วัดโบสถ์เมือง จ.จันทบุรี
หากใครเดินผ่านริมน้ำจันทบูรแล้วผ่านมายังแม่น้ำจันทบุรี จะเห็นยอดเจดีย์สีเหลืองทองเด่นอยู่บนเนิน แต่น้อยคนที่จะได้เข้าไปในวัดแห่งนี้ วัดโบสถ์เมืองเป็นวัดที่เก่าแก่โบราณเป็นร้อยปี แม้กระทั่งพระพุทธเจ้าหลวง รัชกาลที่ 5 ในขณะที่เสด็จมาทางแม่น้ำจันทบุรี แล้วตรัสว่า เห็นวัดโบสถ์อยู่ด้านซ้ายมือและด้านขวามือคือ วัดจันทนาราม เชิญรับชมภาพถ่ายและข้อมูล ประวัติความเป็นมา วัดโบสถ์เมือง ตั้งอยู่บนเนินสูงระดับเดียวกันกับที่ตั้งศาลากลางหลังเก่าบนถนนเบญจมราชูทิศ ติดกับแม่น้ำจันทบุรีฝั่งขวา สันนิษฐานว่าสร้างเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2395 และน่าจะสร้างขึ้นมาตั้งแต่สมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนปลาย โดยสังเกตจากใบเสมาหินทรายขาว พระอุโบสถ และเจดีย์ทรงลังกา นอกจากนี้ยังมีการค้นพบทับหลังอันเป็นศิลปะบาปวนตอนปลาย พ.ศ. 1510-1630 รูปพระอินทร์ทรงช้างเอราวัณในซุ้มเรือนแก้ว และภายในวัดยังมีสิ่งต่าง ๆ น่าชมมากมาย เช่น อุโบสถ ศาลาการเปรียญ หอสวดมนต์ เจดีย์ใหญ่บรรจุพระบรมธาตุ มีเจดีย์เล็กล้อมรอบสี่มุม หน้าอุโบสถมีทับหลังศิลปะบาปวน โรงเรียนพระปริยัติธรรม ส่วนด้านหลังของวัดนั้น มีบันไดที่สามารถเดินลงไปถึงย่านท่าหลวง อันเป็นชุมชนเก่าแก่ริมแม่น้ำจันทบูรที่มีอายุราว 300 ปี ตั้งแต่สมัยพระนารายณ์มหาราช ปัจจุบันมีการส่งเสริมและพัฒนาริมน้ำจันทบูรให้เป็นแหล่งอนุรักษ์ศิลปวัฒนธรรมและแหล่งท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม ถนนริมน้ำในอดีตเคยเป็นย่านการค้าดั้งเดิม มีร้านค้าเก่าแก่ บ้านเรือนเก่าที่ยังมีความงดงาม ที่ตั้ง : ถนนเบญจมราชูทิศ ตำบลตลาด อำเภอเมืองฯ จังหวัดจันทบุรี 22000 Cr. ข้อมูลการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย
