พบกับความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของพืชผลนานาชนิดที่พากันสลับผลัดเปลี่ยนกันออกดอกออกผลตลอดทั้งปี อีกทั้งในช่วงต้นเดือนถึงปลายเดือนมกราคมของทุกปี คุณยังจะได้ชมดอกพญาเสือโคร่งหรือซากุระเมืองไทย ที่พากันบานสะพรั่งแรระบายทั่วบริเวณให้กลายเป็นสีชมพูสวยงาม โดยการท่องเที่ยวในสถานีทดลองเกษตร ที่สูงแม่จอนหลวงนั้น มีจุดที่น่าสนใจอยู่หลายจุดด้วยกัน ดังนี้
· จุดแรกเป็นศูนย์บริการข้อมูล ที่คุณสามารถเข้าชมนิทรรศการและวีดิทัศน์เพื่อรับทราบข้อมูลโดยคร่าวๆ เกี่ยวกับทางสถานีได้
· จุดที่สอง อยู่ห่างจากจุดแรกไปทางทิศตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ที่เต็มไปด้วยแปลงสาลี่ โดยสาลี่ที่ปลูกกันโดยทั่วไปนั้นมี 2 ประเภท คือ สาลี่ฝรั่งและสาลี่จีน
· จุดที่สาม เป็นแปลงไม้ดอกเมืองหนาว เช่น เยอบีร่า สะแตติส พิทูเนีย
· จุดที่สี่ เป็นแปลงสตรอว์เบอร์รี่และแปลงพืชผักปลอดสารพิษ ถ้ามาเยือนในช่วงต้นปีราวเดือน มกราคมถึงมีนาคม จะสามารถเด็ดชิมสตรอว์เบอร์รี่ในแปลงทดลองนี้ได้เลย
จุดสุดท้าย คือ แปลงวิจัยชา คุณจะได้ชมกระบวนการแปรรูปชา และอาจโชคดีได้ลองชิมยำใบชาสูตรพิเศษ ที่จะหาชิมได้ที่นี่แห่งเดียว นอกจากนี้ยังมีแปลงทดสอบพันธุ์มะคาเดเมียนัท แปลงทดสอบพันธุ์เสาวรส แปลงเกาลัดจีน
สิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก

· เส้นทางแรก ออกจากตัวเมืองจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ไปบนเส้นทางสายเชียงใหม่-ฮอด ผ่านอำเภอจอมทองเลี้ยวขวาขึ้นดอยอินทนนท์ เมื่อถึง กม.ที่ 31 เลี้ยวขวาผ่านศูนย์พัฒนาโครงการหลวงดอยอินทนนท์ ผ่านทางลาดยางประมาณ 16 กิโลเมตร จะถึงศูนย์วิจัยเกษตรหลวงเชียงใหม่ (ขุนวาง) ให้เลี้ยวซ้ายผ่านศูนย์ขุนวางไปอีกประมาณ 6 กิโลเมตร ผ่านทางดินลูกรังจึงถึงสถานีเกษตรที่สูงแม่จอนหลวงรวมระยะทางประมาณ 120 กิโลเมตร ใช้เวลา 2 ถึง 3 ชั่วโมง
เส้นทางที่ 2 จากจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ผ่านอำเภอสันป่าตอง แยกขวาที่สันป่าตองเข้าสู่เส้นทางหมายเลข 1013 ไปอำเภอแม่วาง เมื่อผ่านอำเภอแม่วางไปจะมีทางแยกซ้ายมือ ให้เลี้ยวซ้าย จากนั้นเส้นทางจะลัดเลาะขึ้นภูเขา ผ่านบ้านหนองเต่า บ้านป่ากล้วย บ้านโป่งลมแรง แล้วเลี้ยวขวาไปอีก 9 กิโลเมตรจึงถึงสถานีทดลองเกษตรที่สูงแม่จอนหลวง (เส้นทางระหว่างบ้านหนองเต่าจนถึงสถานียัง เป็นทางดินลูกรังราว 15 กิโลเมตร) ระยะทางรวม 92 กิโลเมตร ใช้เวลาประมาณ 2 ถึง 2 ชั่วโมงครึ่ง
